@neillm i had similar errors, been trying to sync a server
but it's not syncing
i've been researching indicators a lot recently. you know one of them is active addresses vs price. I think libbitcoin server is really suited to building fast analysis of network activity with things like time series .etc
I had last sync'd a v3 a couple weeks ago (4 outbound peers, no localhost). And just finished a v4 sync yesterday

@narodnik Do you mean you had a server go down while syncing in a similar manner? Sorry, maybe I lost the context of the errors regarding sync.

V3 can be slow (blocks first, not optimized), but it’s extremely reliable. V4 may have issues, it’s optimizations are incomplete (can get slow due to confirmation backlog) and may have some failure modes.

just checked it out, reset the sync and currently it's on 470k

Merged some build updates. At some point, 2 of the dependency download links went bad, so install.sh wasn't working as-is 😞

You need a v4 server in particular? Testnet or mainnet? Just curious. I have a public v4 testnet node, and a private v4 mainnet node (often up/down, depends).

yes v4 server, but I also want to hack around on the database and introduce mechanisms for custom indexes .etc

you know what's amazing to do with libbitcoin is blockchain analytics, especially for things like trading, looking at coin age and other metrics. These are very valuable indicators and source of intel for price movements
