Surely not news to everyone, but I just saw that boost has real JSON support now: https://www.boost.org/doc/libs/develop/libs/json/doc/html/index.html

I wrote a property tree replacement, for json, xml and info object serializations, with or without pretty spacing. But I didn't do parsing. With this though we can easily layer over http for the compat interface.

The json has full data type support (to the extent json has data types), but limited XML to elements only.
