Hi @evoskuil @neillm, I'm working on the EC documentation chapter and reliving a bit of Bitcoin history whilst looking at recoverable sigs. I gather this was discussed around 2011 by core devs, but obviously DERs still in use (consensus). Was this implemented in Libbitcoin in anticipation of potential hardfork back then? potentially eliminating redundant PubKey in TX? Or are recoverable sigs used anywhere else in Bitcoin?
