Hi, i'll post some stuff from attempting to compile LibBitcoin repo libbitcoin, branch version3, commit 55f0c59421b43bb8c756431da53a28daf95dd0fa (= latest).
./autogen.sh - works
CC=/usr/local/bin/egcc \
CXX=/usr/local/bin/eg++ \
CFLAGS="-Og -g -fstack-protector-all" \
CXXFLAGS="-std=c++11 -Og -g -fstack-protector-all" \
PKG_CONFIG_PATH="$LIBBITCOIN_BUILD/lib/pkgconfig" \
./configure --prefix=$LIBBITCOIN_BUILD \
--exec-prefix=$LIBBITCOIN_BUILD \
--with-icu \
--with-png \
--with-qrencode
- works.
gmake -j1 V=1 - on this OpenBSD 6.2 with GCC 4.9.4 (as egcc/eg++), the compilation failed with std:align not being implemented.
talking to people deep in the Gnu GCC/LibBoost toolchain, they highlighted that adding " -DBOOST_NO_CXX11_STD_ALIGN" to CXXFLAGS would trig Boost's mitigation for GCC versions below 5.1.0, to not use std:align when in C++11x, as std:align was implemented first in GCC 5.1.0.
