soo, the news for the day is that we make the assessment that using the OS' default compiler is the overall most sensible choice, and, for OpenBSD since last fall, on all of AMD64, I386, ARM64, SPARC64 (and more?), the system compiler has changed to clang
.
and so, all the ports ("packages") are built using clang too.
tomorrow we'll proceed with compiling boost and libbitcoin for clang.
using clang is not required however we see that an OS (kernel + bundled programs and libs + packaged libs and programs) tends to be built using clang OR gcc
so we'll adapt to this, and in this exact usecase right now this means clang.
hopefully we
'll have libbitcoin and its CLI tools going at the end of the day tmrw!
