Wow, this is awesome! I managed to figure out where my main issue was. I was using the wrong version constants (I was under the impression there was 1, but there are several in different, but logical, places). I'm now testing my addresses / HD wallet by trying to get some funds transferred through the bitcoin core client. When I have that working I'll be doing the same with a simple libbitcoin based set-up 🙂
