Since v3 there is a flush_lock while there is an unflushed write. Upon startup if the file is there the store is corrupt (due to a process termination with an unflushed write). @Mlmikael Is looking to detect/correct read/write failures at the disk level. I consider this out of scope as it is the job of the hardware and its firmware.
