This is the case with Core as well, they just don’t deal with it.
@evoskuil Bitcoin Core does have some logic to rewind the last N blocks after an unexpected shutdown.
i also did not see any logic to recalculate the whole Bitcoin blockchain as a self-validation measure in Bitcoin Core.
