The bitcoin blockchain is a cache, not an authoritative record. as such it’s requirements are different than general purpose databases. If there is a hard shutdown libbitcoin always knows whether the store is corrupt. Scanning the store is a complete waste of time. Validating a corrupt store does not make sense. It has nothing to do with the database structures.
