I'm doing exactly that at the moment, and I'm wondering what exactly I should use as entry point?
vdeurzen16:27
i.e. if I'm starting from a tx 🙂

sorry, github’s jupyter notebook preview is somehow not working right now, but here is a step by step demo. https://nbviewer.jupyter.org/github/teachbitcoin/code-demos/blob/master/A_script_machine_tool/00_script_machine_testing_tool.ipynb

so in step 1, you fetch the previous utxo with BX, step 2 you can just paste your spending TX and spending input index, and step 3 run the libbitcoin interpreter.

ok, so jupyter, bash and cling is the best option, I'll follow your notebook. Impressive work!

@vdeurzen tbh, you don’t need all that, you can follow the BX steps in your command line, then include the same script_machine.cpp file in your cpp script.

right, cool

getting cling + jupyter installed anyway, it's actually quite nice for prototyping I guess 🙂
James C.09:54
yeah, I use it for live demos, although, with cling, you can’t run a jupyter cell more than once if you’re defining/constructing a new object, which is obvious, but makes it less interactive as with python. With python, a constructor/reassign is “interchangeable”, which can also be dangerous I guess… let me know what you think of cling!

I've tried it when it was just released, was a bit unstable at that point, but I'm really excited for it 🙂
