I can properly handshake (>version, <version, >verack, <verack). However after that I don't receive anything from the node. Is it normal?

Did you receive ping messages?

Those represent a bare minimum protocol to keep the channel alive. What version are you announcing to the peer? The version implies whether a pong response is expected.

I did not receive any ping message (I indeed reply to ping with pong). I did not receive anything from the node except version and verack.

I announce version 70015

Maybe that is the problem, because mainnet1.libbitcoin.net is 70013?
