They have a cute system man. The new data and updates go straight to disk. While for analysis you load the file once to start the analysis. Then new updates aren't visible to you. "To load the le for analysis, it is mapped into memory. The on-disk representation continues to grow (and be modied in place), but the analysis library provides a static view (Section 2.4)."
