I'm not a fan of heavy commenting. I only use comments to describe things that are counterintuitive in the code, for people who are generally familiar with it. An explanation of how it actually works belongs somewhere else. The primary effort is to make the code itself readable. There is a good amount of work to do in blockchain to get to that point however.
