The reorg callback is fired when a reorg happens. If you have derived from or contained node you have access to safe_chain as a property of node, so you can access any chain state. However, all calls are asynchronous. A reorg may happen while you are fetching height, at which point height may have changed by the time your fetch call returns. So you would only want to initialize height before starting node.
