I also tracked down a periodic error on loading the hosts file. Had a deserialization failure for IPv6-Compatible addresses. I was intentionally not supporting these because they aren't necessary and are deprecated by RFC, but some were coming in over the network and I was serializing them, but didn't have the deserialization. So did the full denormalization to ensure we write those as IPv4 as well. The idea is to keep the hosts file simple as IPv4 and IPv6 in a single format each, no compat modes. I also modified the reader to skip invalid lines instead of aborting at that point. Added some logging as well so it's easy to see what's getting read/lost from the file.
