Since we are getting correct logical results over very large data sets, both in validation and confirmation, and not crashing ever - I would rule out #3 for now. #1 is an easy test, just search the hashmap headers for link density, which I was going to put in a tool today anyway. #2 could be the result of a magnitude error in sizing and seems most likely.
