The read speed was very constant at 25mb/sec, apart from the thrashing period where it spiked. The full archive was sequentially read in 6.08 hours. At a rate of 25mb/sec this implies about 10% more data was read than exists in the archive. This is attributable to the thrashing episode but also to the full restart. Presumably with sufficient RAM a full run would be 100% of archive size. But given the restart and thrashing, 110% is excellent. Note that the full archive can be read in parallel, and given maximal transfer rate can be entirely read in 30 minutes (the archive is larger than the wire serialization due to indexing).
