I was tuning these settings after getting the system operational and was a little frustrated that on my peak 940 Mbps network I was only getting about a 180 Mbps rate in any configuration. Then I realized I had been testing with only a single network thread (for the entire networking stack with the exception of logging and reporting, which each have a dedicated thread). After bumping that to 8 threads I immediately was hitting around 850 Mbps - over 90% saturated.
