So I finally have some precise sizing numbers for the wire serialization. The set of blocks up to 841,303 totals 568,590,567,136 bytes (530GB) and is archived and indexed by BN in 670,219,288,155 bytes on disk (624GB). This is 17.87% overhead. The estimate from my two year old sizing spreadsheet is 18.58% !!
