Here's the current trajectory, actually speeding up a bit. Note that the first 3.5% of the chain is checkpointed, so by consensus these are not validated. The total time for those is about 10 minutes with the 5k window. To validate them takes about 30 minutes (so 20 additional minutes overall if we were to do that, but that should not be done since it's 100% waste). The rate for the subsequent 30% of the chain has been very consistent, even speeding up a bit from segwit activation in the last segment. I'll update this in the morning. And it appears that this is not going to thrash, which is already a huge win.
