Got to about block 800k validated and hit a bug somewhere in the new code. But close enough to completion to see that it was going to at least match the previous best time. Generally on the maxi the total full validation time is constrained by signature validation. But this change is significant, in that it means the expensive part of confirmation can run concurrently. The sequential part is faster than download, and I should be able to get it to run concurrently with download, by changing the download window behavior.
