Well, once the point hashmap got large the double spend lookups started heavily pages-swapping, and it finished up at 16.3 hrs (365% of 256GB runs). Still 8 hours faster than Core on this machine (with twice the memory, though that wouldn't make a difference), but not what I was expecting.
