the hashmap head. the hash function for the point table is a std::hash combine of the tx.hash and the index. the hash of the tx.hash is the first 4 bytes.

All table bodies are append only, and rows are allocated in a batch for a given tx. So they are inherently contiguous. Even if the allocation was not contiguous due to individual allocation (as previously) data locality wouldn't be materially affected, and that's the only real cost (paging).
