As I predicted with the rapid confirmation. Confirmation is now almost nothing. It's not what's pulling download/validation up, that's the increased point table insert cost (due to duplicate detection). Once validation completes, confirmation races ahead, taking 13 minutes to confirm the last 125k blocks (about 30% of the chain by volume). So confirmation phase cost is really just about 40 minutes, and the other part of the increase is the point table de-duplication (50 minutes).
