I've just completed the restoration of the confirmation chaser. This changes the simplified loop back into the full reorg capable confirmed chain manager, but with the final confirmation design. The implementation is simpler than it's ever been, mapping closely to the original design document, another good sign. I'll be running some tests to measure performance impact, but from experience and early indications, it's inconsequential.
