I just discovered this... https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/REST-interface.md Had no idea. So that'll be added to the bitcoind json-rpc endpoint, and is basically a clone of the existing explore interface, though much more limited. Since it's REST these are url GET queries, where the json-rpc is json POST queries. This will take an afternoon.
