Also verified the size difference in the txs table with and without the cache, up to block 900k, is 14,048 bytes: 
  4,802,912,942 (cache)
- 4,802,898,894 (no cache)
         14,048 bytes
This is as expected given: 
floor(900,001 blocks / 2^11 blocks/interval) = 439 intervals
439 intervals * 32 bytes/interval = 14,048 bytes
