With nothing more than modern threads (e.g. 4.4 base vs. 2.1) and sha-ni this machine would be completing a full validation over the Internet to 950k in < 2.5 hrs. The last bitcoind run I did on this machine took 24 hours to validate to 850k. Because of the sequential nature of its processing, sha-ni and individual core speed have a much more significant effect, and the lack of a native Windows build is also crushing.
