Completed a maxi full validation capture in 3:18 last night (full validation but sig batches unverified), thought this is leaking 24% of the signatures into uncaptured validation (due to the avoidance of locking). So that's an extra 43 minutes of signature verification that can be removed. That would bring the capture down to about 2:35. CPU verify on maxi is about 3:00, and full validation is about 5:00 so that means the capture overhead is about 35 minutes (we would expect capture/verify on CPU to be 5:35), which is pretty tight/reasonable for the amount of additional capture work. Verifying these batches on a modern GPU at 5M sps takes 20 mins, so that gets the full validation with GPU down to ~3:00.
