On my Mac Pro (which now needs a name), milestone to 950,000 completed in 101 mins over my (single) 2.5 (2.3) Gbps Internet. This is the fastest Mac sync ever by a wide margin, based on a prototype mmap replacement that controls write flushing rationally. It's a 5 year old machine with 796GB RAM, 32 threads and without shani. So it should be network limited but is currently about twice that. But now that's just optimization, not the broken OS. This can also be applied to Linux with no changes, which would avoid the need for OS paging config.
