Two outstanding issues. (1) There is a mmap regression in the macOS mmap (likely race) that leads to a SIGBUS. (2) There is another POSIX-related limit arising on Linux (only) from the POSIX workarounds, which I am working around. In the mean time you may experience a handled (logged, node stop, corrupt store) mmap allocation error on low VM (RAM + swap).
