I'm out of release preview punch list items, apart from unit test expansion (which is ongoing). So I've taken on two items on the v4 release list.
- Generalize addressing for bip155 support and implement Tor, I2P and cjdns addressing.
- Implement outbound connection binding, and load balance outbound connections.
I've decided against support for network bridging, so Tor, I2p, and IP will apply to the full node, not on a per-channel basis. Not only is this dramatically simpler, it also forecloses a Core privacy leak. Obviously the networks need to be bridged, but this is not the way to do it. A bridge is simply two nodes on distinct networks sharing a private manual IP connection.
