You're getting an error produced by two different issues colliding. (1) you used a feature branch name (2) action/checkout appears to leave a directory where git clone performing the same action does not. (2) is attempting to compensate for (1). I can revert (2) but we'll still have an issue or I can look into whether I can detect the failure to execute the step correctly and perform filesystem cleanup
I made a PR from my own origin to a feature branch as usual, so I'd like to figure out how to improve that process -- thanks for the quick response, and can address in the coming days!
upon fixing that, I worked out a way to reinstate them without significant failure to the CI process. put that in earlier today, and we're hitting an edge case I was looking to test.
should be noted - using a feature branch <feature name> will build off thecodefactory/<repo>/<feature name> when available but fallback to libbitcoin/<repo>/master instead of thecodefactory/<repo>/master
