The tx pool (unconfirmed tx index, wtxid index, and validation/confirmation metadata) was formerly dropped at prune time, effectively resetting it at each restart, while using the index for optimizing the catch-up sync. That is now updated so that the pool is pruned on a row-by-row basis so that confirmed txs and txs that conflict with confirmed txs and children of conflicting txs are selectively dropped from the index. This can later be set up to operate on demand while running. The only limit to the size of the tx pool record count is disk space.
