testnet4 (150K blocks) syncs milestone on shelly on < 1 min, full validation < 2 min. testnet3 (5.1M blocks) syncs milestone on shelly on < 20 min, full validation < 40 min. Most of that difference is the 5.1M block sequential confirmation tail, not validation (see Testnet3 Full Validation - orange is confirmation). That should reduce to ~28 mins with parallel confirmation. Blocks are so small in testnet that sequential confirmation falls behind parallel validation. Still have to tune the hashmaps.
