Ok, on to 450-500k. Reduced network threads/peers to 8/100 from 16/200, reduced step from 5 to 10k blocks. This caused full CPU utilization to jump to 100% at 30 seconds into the run (and is staying there), vs. 9.5/10.5 mins in previous runs. So shifting more power from network to CPU, especially as blocks are getting bigger and there's no size-based throttling yet.
