The most recent mini run with shani completed download/validate in 9.8 hours. With this slightly faster processor running avx512 and some shani updates, the same is now tracking 18% faster and will complete at 8.1 hours.

This is full download/validate? No milestone?
evoskuil01:49
Right, though it excludes the final confirmation stage. On a low memory machine that can be expensive. I have a resolution for that. On high mem machines it's like 30 mins currently.

Milestone on this machine is at 39 minutes to 850k

Thinking of re-running the benchmark with 16GB instead of 32. Think that’ll take twice as long? haha
evoskuil01:51
It got a little faster due to axx512 availability, but mostly it reduced CPU utilization, from close to peak down to 50% for the full milestone run.
evoskuil01:51
It may be way more than twice as long. Though it may be a lot less.

Libbitcoin's weakness is paging. When memory gets low enough it can get costly. Above a certain level, it's inconsequential.

All I know for sure right now is that at 32GB there is no more than 5 minutes cost to having less than infinite RAM.

Because it cannot go any faster than 34 minutes.
