Testing is complete with avx512, which modestly improves Merkle hashing at 16% of baseline vs. 18% from shani and materially over avx2 at 22% (and sse4 at 56%). Overall the shani/avx512 hash improvements over the past few weeks have reduced milestone sync time from 1 hour to 40 minutes and CPU utilization to 50% (from close to 100%). This savings combined with reduced hashing cost during validation has reduced sync/validation time from 9.8 hours to 7.8.
