The big machine (no shani) completes a full sync, validation, and confirmation in 5.4 hours. That's with all 10.4 billion prevout searches (there are a lot more queries, but I'm focused on these specifically). Validate only (no download, no confirm) takes 3.4 hours. So 2 hours is consumed in download and confirm (where download alone takes 50 minutes). This time compresses when each runs concurrently, given enough RAM. So I'm working to get this down to about 4.5 hours in the big machine by optimizing confirmation.
