I was building everything manually since the script failed. That also did not work. So trying ./install.sh again without sudo

./install.sh --prefix=$HOME/libbitcoin --build-boost --build-secp256k1 --disable-shared

Why does boost default to 1.89.0 though?

@expatriotic is me, @evoskuil the install script in each project installs that project and its dependencies. If you just want system, install system. If the issue is installation to the system as a whole, Eric is right, prefix installation scopes where everything lives and allows for placement in paths or not as the user dictates.
