Finished up the tx population query, which populates previous outputs for unconfirmed txs and augments with prevout height and mtp and spender height metadata, allowing the tx to be fully validated, dos checked, and tested for confirmability, using the chain::transaction check/accept/connect/confirm methods. Since the confirmability checks for blocks are performed in the store for IBD performance optimization, this is only used for tx pool acceptance. Even though we don't yet have the pool, the code is now complete to validate txs against store, including with a tx pool in the store (as in version3) and thereby allows txs to be submitted by clients (such as electrum or bitcoind interfaces), or by peers. Though the storage and relay of txs is not implemented, it's very little remaining work, maybe one day.
